Ex-Googler-led startup Tablevibe has partnered with Uber Direct to launch its commission-free online ordering system in Australia. The restaurant tech venture enters the land down under following a surging demand for its solutions in Southeast Asia.

The move empowers any restaurant to set up a free webshop and accept pickup and delivery orders directly from its customers. On-demand drivers are sourced automatically and deliver food for a low distance-based fee. As a result, restaurants save up to 70% in online food ordering costs.

Helping eateries engage directly with digital diners

One of Tablevibe’s restaurant launch partners is Arthur’s Pizza, a fast-casual eatery group with six locations across Sydney. Bhavesh Patel, Director of Arthur’s Pizza mentions: “We selected Tablevibe based on their strong track record of helping major hospitality groups sell directly to digital customers and accelerate their profit margins.”

Uber leverages its technology, partnerships, and connection to a widespread delivery network to satisfy on-demand needs instantaneously. The company already partners with over 870,000 merchants in more than 11,000 cities across six continents. Ben Goodger, Head of Uber Direct ANZ adds: “Tablevibe is one of the latest innovative tech companies fully integrated with Uber Direct in Australia. Our partnership with Tablevibe empowers eateries across Australia to offer on-demand deliveries at a low distance-based fee per order.”

Making online food ordering more accessible

Tablevibe’s deep integration with Uber Direct allows restaurants to instantly dispatch orders without hiring their own riders. Eateries typically use their cost savings to at least partially cover delivery fees, thereby making online ordering even more accessible to consumers.

The startup-business appointed food influencer and hospitality industry veteran Michael Teasdale to spearhead its Australian expansion. He adds: “Our success comes down to our unique ability to help any food and beverage business sell directly to online customers within hours, thereby creating direct relationships between restaurants and digital diners.”

Direct-to-consumer is the future of the restaurant industry

The global pandemic drove a seismic shift toward digital commerce in the Food & Beverage (F&B) industry. 70% of consumers say they prefer ordering directly with restaurants, but most F&B operators need more tools to unlock direct-to-consumer relationships.

Mathieu Sneep, Tablevibe’s Chief Operation Officer (COO) says, “We saw our global revenue surge more than 500% year over year. Together with our strong Australian partners, we are incredibly excited about supporting local restaurants and making their offerings even more accessible to food lovers across Australia.”
