Travel used to fit neatly into two boxes: business or leisure. Remote work has turned that dividing line into a slider. A conference trip can now end with three days at the beach; a summer holiday can stretch into a month of weekday video calls and weekend exploration. The 2026 FIFA World Cup showed the scale of the opportunity. FIFA recorded 6.81 million match attendees across 16 venues and more than 9 million Fan Festival visits. FIFA did not publish a bleisure split, but a five-week tournament across three countries created ideal conditions for visitors to extend stays and work between fixtures.
